Richland Game Art (Straight v. Curve) Week 3

Game Concept Art - Week 3 (5FEB19)

Design a Hercules Beetle Using Line and Shape and the colors Black, White & Red

Pay close attention to the shape and details of the Hercules Beetle and design a stylized top and side view of this large beetle using the basic shapes: circle, square & triangle. You may add details using line and shape. Finish your design using the 3 color palette (Black, Red & White).

The simpler the design, the better. Get inspiration from the insects Charley Harper painted in the 50s and 60s. Create contrast in your character by focusing on big and small shapes.

Masculine & Feminine Shapes

Create a Cast

Select 5 characters from unrelated film projects and line them up in a size comparison that shows relative height and tells an interesting story using contrast, scale, shape language and straights v. curves. Eliminate color to focus attention to the shape choices you make.

Here is a Size Comp of various characters from different genres and time periods in a line up based on a story that takes place in a Tavern and on a Haunted Ship in the mid 1800s. Let the grouping of character types help to write the story and create conflict/drama.
